Moments Desktop (Application Identifier: Paladoriom.MomentsDesktop) is an offline-first micro-journaling, mood tracking, and mindful analytics desktop application for Windows, developed by Paladoriom (Muhammad Rehan). The application provides a calm, distraction-free desktop environment for recording daily reflections, monitoring emotional wellness, tracking journaling streaks, and managing personal notes.

Unlike cloud-based journaling platforms, Moments Desktop does not gather any personal or behavioral data:

  No Personal Identifiable Information (PII): We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, address, or credentials.

  No Account Registration: You do not need to register an account, log in with a Microsoft account, or authenticate through any cloud provider to use the app.

  No Device Identifiers or Telemetry: We do not collect hardware identifiers, MAC addresses, machine GUIDs, or OS telemetry.

  No Generative AI Processing: Moments Desktop does not send your journal content to external AI models or LLM APIs. All journaling is purely human reflection and processed entirely on your machine.

All data created while using Moments Desktop resides strictly on your local PC storage:

  Timestamps: The exact creation and modification dates and times of your entries.

  Mood Ratings: The emotional states and mood tags you associate with each entry.

  Favorites & Milestones: Starred entries and milestone progression tracking.

Moments Desktop includes built-in data portability tools to guarantee full ownership of your data:

  Full JSON Export: You can export your entire journaling history into an open, readable JSON backup file at any time via the Settings page.

  Backup Import: You can restore or merge your journal entries from a previously exported backup file.
• ◆
  Local Execution: Both export and import processes happen entirely offline on your local computer. The app only accesses file paths that you explicitly choose through the standard Windows file dialog.

Moments Desktop is designed to operate 100% offline. An internet connection is not required to create, edit, search, filter, or export your thoughts. The desktop application does not run any background web servers, hidden daemons, or remote network calls.

Moments Desktop respects your system security and operates under standard Windows user permissions:

  No Microphone or Audio recording access.
• ◆
  No Location sensor access.
• ◆
  No Non-Microsoft drivers or NT background services.
• ◆
  File system access is strictly restricted to the application's local AppData directory and user-selected export/import locations.

Moments Desktop is completely ad-free:

  We do not integrate advertising networks or marketing trackers.
• ◆
  We do not share, sell, rent, or trade any user information with data brokers or commercial entities.

You have total control over all information entered into Moments Desktop:

  Individual Entry Deletion: You can delete individual journal entries at any time directly from the History or Insights interface.
• ◆
  Reset All Data: You can delete all entries at any time by clearing or deleting the %LOCALAPPDATA%\Moments\moments.db database file or through Windows App Settings.

  App Uninstallation: Uninstalling Moments Desktop through Windows Settings or the Control Panel removes the application from your computer.

Because Moments Desktop does not collect or transmit any personal data whatsoever, it is safe for users of all ages, including children under 13 (or under 16 in the European Union). We strictly comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
